On October 5-9, 2011,
International Institute of Deaf Services, Inc. will host IMPARTATION 2011 – “Taking Root – Bearing Fruit” Conference. Men and women from all over the United States and other countries will gather together in Birmingham, Alabama at
Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park, 8 Perimeter Park South, Birmingham, AL 35243 as well as the
Deaf Church at Brook Hills, 3145 Brook Highland Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35242.
IMPARTATION is more than just a conference; it’s an Encounter with God. Most conferences focus on skills and not on ministering to an individual’s spiritual life. Usually only 5-10 minutes are given to prayer over a four-day period. That is very little time in light of the fact that interpreters must communicate that which deals with the soul. Interpreters are not trained in the Word of God, yet have the responsibility to interpret His precious Word.
Spiritual training for the deaf community is rarely heard of. The deaf community rarely has the opportunity to receive the Gospel first hand in their language. The door for reaching and training deaf individuals and those who work with them is now open.
IIDS, a 501C3 organization, is calling for men and women of God who would invest into the lives of these precious people who hunger for the Word of God and training.
IIDS expects to attract more than 200
participants’ deaf and hearing. Individuals from
all over come to participate in quality
in-service training with nationally recognized
leaders in the field of sign language
interpretation. Deaf individuals come to secure
effective leadership and empowerment training as
well as classes on Spiritual Development.
Interpreters are facing increasing certification
and educational requirements, including
requirements for continued education. IIDS is
one of few national conferences providing this
type of training for religious interpreters. It
is an opportunity for interpreters to learn from
a broad cross-section of the leading trainers in
the field. We invite you to be part of this
