What’s Involved in Hosting an
IMPACT CONFERENCE
 
Hosting Impace Conference
 
The Host Church provides a facility for the workshop. Host would provide an LCD Projector and screen or solid wall for the PowerPoint presentation. Host would need to provide an A/V Cart or small table in presentation room. Sound is also required.
   
Participate in a staff conference call 3 weeks prior to the event date. Dial-in number and time will be coordinated prior to the scheduled date.
   
The host ministry would assist with the registration table (2 individuals) and also serve as host. We would also ask the host to spread the word and advertise within their community to local Interpreter Training Programs, deaf ministries, churches, and clubs. Host should also list announcements on local list-serv.
   
Host would need to provide (2) six-foot tables for registration area near electrical outlets with table clothes and 2 chairs.
   
Host would need to contact local interpreting agencies to request they donate interpreter service for both days. IMPACT requires the use of certified interpreters. A structure of the request is available if needed.
   
For this endeavor, host would need to begin by saying that your church will serve as the site host for a religious workshop for Deaf participants and Interpreters. Give them:
  - The date/time/location of the workshop program
- The number of Deaf participants you expect to attend
   
Ask if the agency would be willing to sponsor two interpreters with knowledge and skills specific to a religious setting for one or both days.
   
For the host church/organization, we will comp 3 registration fees. We would also discount registration ($25) for the members from that ministry if they register in advance. We're hoping to have at least 35- 40 people at each seminar.
   
IIDS will provide refreshments for Friday night and Saturday morning. These funds are budgeted. We will need our host/hostess to arrange for refreshments and deliver items for both days. A coffee pot will also be needed.
   
Refreshments for Friday include:
  - Sandwiches
- Chips
- Coffee
- Punch
- Water
- Cookies
- Veggie Tray
   
Refreshments for Saturday include:
  - Coffee
- Water
- Orange Juice
- Individually wrapped Muffins/Danishes
- Fresh Fruit
- Granola Snacks
   
Advertisement for event should begin at least 45 days in advance. Our office will mail oversized post-cards and registration forms to the host church. These items should be distributed around the community.
